Friends of the Library
We are in the
process of organizing Friends of the Library groups for Brunswick County
Library in Lawrenceville and Richardson Memorial Library in Emporia.
Friends of the Library fund programs and purchase items the Library could not
otherwise afford. Although the Meherrin Regional Library System receives
funding from its local governments, there are many items not included in the
budget the Library receives from these localities. This includes funding
for cultural programs and facilities improvements.
Members of the Friends of the Library can organize fund raising activities,
focus public attention on library needs, give tax-deductible contributions to
the library, and much more. Library Foundations provide opportunities for
even more revenue sources to supplement tax support of a Library. See the
Friends of Libraries U.S.A. information
on
Establishing a Library Foundation.
We need your support! Please help us continue to provide programs and improve our Libraries.
